Forging ahead of the competition
Small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that withstand the test of time and thrive for decades are few and far between. Those that do share a common trait: the ability to transform and stay relevant in an ever-changing business landscape.
One such company is Fong Lee Metal Industries, a family business in Singapore. Over the past 44 years, Fong Lee has embraced digitalisation and the latest technologies to become an industry leader attuned to the needs and demands of the precision engineering field.
In this edition of SME Showcase, Fong Lee’s second-generation leader, Bernie Choy, shares how his father’s foresight, progressive nature and unwavering focus on being a people-first company have driven steady growth.
We hope this inspiring tale convinces other SMEs that investing in technological upgrades is a worthwhile endeavour — one that can bring exponential gains and ensure a business does not get left behind in the wake of the competition.
