Navigating Continuous Change
The ancient Greek philosopher Heraclitus once said, “Change is the only constant in life.” This concept has resonated profoundly, particularly in the dynamic landscape of business. Understanding the omnipresence of change is one thing; the key to success, however, lies in a company’s ability to identify and strategically respond to changes that directly impact its sustainability.
In this edition of the eBulletin, we spotlight how JNR Entertainment and Barre 2 Barre have adeptly responded to changes in their respective industries. Engaging the student-consultants through the UOB-SMU Asian Enterprise Institute’s flagship SME Consulting Programme (SCP), these small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) sought help to identify areas of opportunity and recommendations to optimise their operations for growth.
JNR Entertainment, an event management company and hybrid event organiser with a decade-long history, acknowledges the need to streamline its operations in the face of an evolving business environment post-COVID-19.
Similarly, fitness studio Barre 2 Barre has witnessed pandemic-era disruptions in societal norms and faced increased uncertainties. In response, the company continues to adapt to the new normal and strategise to not only restore growth but to build resilience for the future.
Each SCP project was managed by a team of student-consultants under the guidance of an industry veteran, known as the Project Advisor, and a Project Manager from the Institute. Working closely with the SMEs, the teams applied the SCP’s hallmark scientific methodologies to understand the business issues, conduct comprehensive research and propose viable, practical solutions.
Both companies lauded the student-consultants for their meticulous and scientific approach. JNR Entertainment particularly appreciated the team’s attention to detail and the quality of their presentations, while Barre 2 Barre was impressed by the team’s innovative insights, providing them with new ways to think outside the box.
If you, too, are trying to understand the changes in your operating landscape, come talk to us. The SCP may just be what’s needed to equip you and your business for the next stage of growth.
